The application of constant-gain output feedback to arbitrarily assign eigenvectors for a system with a given set of eigenvalues is investigated. Necessary and sufficient. conditions for the existence of an output-feedback gain matrix for a given eigen-structure are developed. The allowable eigenspaces are thus characterized and the design procedure is illustrated through numerical examples.
