Robustness of interconnected systems to structural disturbances in structural controllability and observability

Pages 205-217 | Received 11 Jul 1988, Published online: 27 Mar 2007

Abstract

The robustness to structural changes of interconnected systems described by a structured state model is considered. This corresponds to coefficient cancellations in matrices A, B or C, i.e. to breaking of interconnections, breakdown of actuators or sensors and transducers. According to the representation of the system, the rupture conditions in which the controllability and observability properties are maintained, may be deduced.
