General method for designing RC harmonic oscillators

Pages 307-314 | Received 30 Jul 1984, Accepted 20 Aug 1984, Published online: 06 Jul 2010

ABSTRACT

A general, simple and systematic method for generating RC harmonic oscillators is proposed. These oscillators, which are classified into fifteen oscillator families, are constructed by cross-cascading easily designed first-order circuits. The method is developed by eighteen examples. Single-resistor controlled oscillators, grounded-capacitor oscillators and two-phase oscillators can be designed. It is also shown that GIC circuits can be obtained from some of these oscillator circuits.
