Abstract
A simple and relatively fast RMS-to-DC converter circuit for application in the control system of PWM power inverters is proposed. The transfer function of the convener is derived in terms of the input signal and circuit component values. The converter circuit is optimally designed to operate with minimum conversion error for a wide range of input duty cycle variations. Simulation and practical results are presented to confirm the expected converter performance. Conclusions are drawn about the performance of the suggested circuit.
