Propagation features of cylindrical conductors coated with chiral materials

Pages 393-402 | Published online: 10 Nov 2010

Abstract

The propagation behaviour of cylindrical conductors with a thin external coating of chiral material is studied. Numerical results for the phase constant as a function of the outer radius, coating thickness and chiral admittance are presented for the modes with azimuthal indices of ±1 and 0. The standing wave pattern of the ±1 and 0 modes for a typical material is presented and a method of determining
