The agricultural pests of West Siberia in a changing climate

Pages 495-501 | Received 20 Feb 2009, Published online: 01 Oct 2009

Abstract

The paper discusses the problem of dissemination of the most dangerous agricultural pests in Western Siberia in recent decades, especially the rapid expansion of Colorado beetle (Leptinotarsa decemlineata Say) to the north and east. The dissemination of Bean weevil (Acanthoscelides obtectus Sav.) follows a new regional crop – haricot bean. The paper analyses the reasons for pests’ dissemination.
