Pages 253-262 | Received 21 May 1914, Published online: 24 Feb 2007

Abstract

Part I of this paper was concerned with the ways the socialization process shapes, directs and sets a specific context for human population processes and dynamics. Topics considered were the anthropological approaches to population research, the current understanding of socialization from various aspects and the way socialization affects population problems. Part II of the paper deals with the last topic in some detail and then concludes with observations concerning policy planning and administration of population on the basis of the concepts discussed in this contribution.
