Gamma and Electron Irradiation of SO2

Abstract

Gamma rays and electrons have been used for the removal of SO2 which may be a major noxious component in combustion gases of fuel oils from industrial plants. It was found, as expected, that SO2 can be removed by irradiation, and electrons are much more efficient than gamma rays.
