Oxygen uptake by milkweed bugs, oncopeltus fasciatus (Hemiptera: Lygaeidae), exposed to various concentrations of gaseous pollutants

The metabolic rate of milkweed bugs exposed to various concentrations of air pollutants was measured. Oxygen uptake was measured with a Warburg apparatus at intervals throughout the life cycle. No significant changes in oxygen uptake due to the gaseous pollutants were found.
