Mycotoxicosis and human starvation (a viewpoint)

The paper deals with the relationship between mycotoxicosis and starvation, with particular reference to India during the Second World War. The tremendous loss of life among the population and also in the opposing armies was due to mouldy grain, and the administration of thiamine and nicotinic acid as a cure caused negative reactions. In the case of mycotoxicosis alcohol and allopathic drugs are also dangerous, while the provision of fresh foods is absolutely essential to cure the afflicted.
