The results of a two‐year study on the fluoride levels in the waters of river Cauvery are presented. It is concluded that the water of this river is unsuitable for domestic use at a few stations along the course because of high fluoride content in the water. Fluoride rich water has also posed a threat to the bird sanctuary at station 4.
