On the Need of Computer Education for Management

Summary

The purpose of the paper is to provide a framework for the study of educational programs for computing and information systems education for management. An analysis of the nature and the role of information systems is presented. The managerial positions which are related to or affected by information systems are discussed. The education necessary for the effective use of computers in organizations is described. On the basis of this analysis, proposals for educational programs may be advanced.
