Divergent integral appearing in Fourier‐transform applications in elasticity

Pages 321-326 | Published online: 20 Aug 2006

Abstract

This work explains that formal applications of Fourier transforms lead to solutions expressed by divergent integrals. As an example the Flamant problem is analysed. The correct solution of this problem is arrived through the introduction of the generalized transform of Airy's function.
