Abstract

This article stresses the importance of co‐ordinate geometry in mathematics syllabuses, not merely because it combines algebra and geometry, but because it has practical applications.

Failure to use simple co‐ordinate geometry caused undue complications in the study of elliptically polarized electromagnetic beams.
