Statement of Retraction: Evaluation of macular thickness and visual pathways using optic coherence tomography and pattern visual evoked potential in different clinical stages of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome

Page 715 | Received 06 Feb 2020, Accepted 30 Apr 2021, Published online: 24 May 2021

We, the Editors and Publishers of the International Journal of Neuroscience, have retracted the following article:

Ayşın Kısabay AK, Melike Batum, Tuğba Göktalay, Hüseyin Mayali, EminKurt, Deniz Selçuki & Hikmet Yilmaz (2020) Evaluation of macular thickness and visual pathways using optic coherence tomography and pattern visual evoked potential in different clinical stages of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome, International Journal of Neuroscience, Latest Articles, DOI: 10.1080/00207454.2020.1825418

Since publication, concerns were raised about the data presented in the article tables being duplicated from an earlier published article by the same authors:

Ayşın Kısabay Ak, Melike Batum, Tuğba Göktalay, Hüseyin Mayali, Emin Kurt, Deniz Selçuki & Hikmet Yılmaz (2020) Evaluation of retinal fiber thickness and visual pathways with optic coherence tomography and pattern visual evoked potential in different clinical stages of obstructive sleep apnea syndrome, Documenta Ophthalmologica, 141, 33-43 DOI: 10.1007/s10633-020-09749-0

Upon investigation, it was discovered that even though the two papers looked at two slightly different areas of the eye, the data output is largely the same. The authors have acknowledged the similarity levels and haven been informed that their article is to be retracted.

We have been informed in our decision-making by our policy on publishing ethics and integrity and the COPE guidelines on retractions.

The retracted article will remain online to maintain the scholarly record, but it will be digitally watermarked on each page as “Retracted”.
