Abstract
This paper discusses an approach to evaluate the assemblability of a product according to its assembly sequence. A concept called Sensitive Tolerance in Assembly is proposed and its influence on the assembly is investigated. The approach using a transformation matrix is proposed to determine the geometric deviations of mating features caused by the tolerance and assembly clearance, and the resulting propagation and accumulations in the different assembly sequences. An example is given to illustrate the approach to derive the relative assemblability of a product for comparing different assembly sequences.
