Abstract

The Kullback-Leibler information is utilized as a criterion for measurement of the distance between the observed and the model probability distributions. In this paper a possibility of designing the sampling plans is discussed from the information theory. A new design procedure for the sampling plans is established based on the Kullback-Leibler information. The proposed procedure is simple and applicable to practical usage.
