Towards an algebraic combinatoric description of closed systems

Pages 2219-2226 | Received 15 Oct 1993, Published online: 16 May 2007

Abstract

This paper proposes a language to describe a closed thermodynamic system. It is the language of association schemes in algebraic combinatorics. This language is obtained from the intransitivity of closed systems when intransitivity is related to paths or to fields. This language is shown to present the temporal and spatial non-symmetry of the Universe and to be generated by a mechanism analogous to the mechanism of gravitation. The description of some concepts from artificial intelligence and from deterministic chaos has been obtained through the terms of this language. More specifically, the invariance in artificial intelligence and the invariance in determininistic chaos are defined in this language.
