OSTRACODA OF THE SUEZ CANAL

Pages 239-248 | Published online: 30 Apr 2013

ABSTRACT

Thirteen species of Ostracoda were found in the Suez Canal. A new species, Cytherella maddocksi, is described in detail. The samples studied did not contain Myodocopa. The ostracode fauna of the Suez Canal originates in the Red Sea. No Mediterranean ostracode was found in the Suez Canal. There is no indication of migration of Red Sea Ostracoda into the Mediterranean via the Suez Canal.
