Pages 45-47 | Received 18 Jul 1969, Published online: 24 Mar 2015

Summary

Honeybees (Apis cerano indica) and Trigona spp. were observed collecting pollen from flowers of the parasitic plant D. falcata, which has been described as ornithophilous. Its nectar is not important to the bees. The mechanism of pollen dispersal is discussed in relation to the part played by insects, and the pollen grain is described and drawn.
