The Development of Ascosphaera Apis within Larvae of Apis Mellifera Ligustica

Summary

It was established that in northern Italy chalk-brook disease is due to infection of larvae with Ascosphaera apis. A histological study was carried out to follow fungal development in the tissues of infected larvae of the Italian honeybee Apis mellifera ligustica.
