Abstract
A BASIC computer program which enables sixth-form students to investigate the amino acid sequence of any chosen small oligopeptide is described. A time-consuming and potentially dangerous process is simulated, making it possible for students to collect first-hand data and to determine, by experiment, the primary structure of a macromolecule.
