Abstract
Some advice on coursework assessment for the General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) is given. At present this internal assessment forms 20 per cent of all GCSE courses in Biology; it is suggested that this should be raised to 50 per cent, considering the time taken by teachers in assessing their pupils.
