Pages 52-56 | Published online: 13 Dec 2010

Abstract

Two examples of statistical involvement in aquacultural research are described. The first refers to the identification of statistical properties and variability patterns of growth related data from aquacultural systems. The second example refers to a research enquiry posed by scientists working on a specific research problem. An overview is given of the value of statistical involvement in aquaculture research and the areas where statistics can be of vital importance are outlined.
