Pages 27-36 | Published online: 15 Jul 2014

Abstract

The trend toward the use of technology in the classroom is steadily gaining at all educational levels, and video is widely used as an instructional tool. The author reports on a unique model using video technology in an Instructor Preparation Program (IPP) at Harvard University. The method described in this article makes use of student performance to measure improvements in teaching skills, and Allison discusses the use of videotape as a tracking device from student achievement to teacher performance. The technique described should be easily adaptable to other institutions wishing to use video in economic education programs.
