Pages 18-22 | Published online: 14 Jul 2014

Abstract

This study examines the environment in which students live and function as a determinant of performance in the first course in economics. The author concludes that the student's living arrangement does influence the stock of economic knowledge at the end of the course and observes a surprising, if tentative, consequence of students having taken a course in high school economics.
