The Teaching of Economics

The Economics of Early Childhood Education in Minnesota

Pages 219-224 | Published online: 14 Jul 2014

Abstract

This is a case study of the “installation” of economic education at the kindergarten-primary grades in one state. The author points out that the effectiveness of this process depends on the demand for such instruction, the materials available, the willingness and capabilities of teachers, and the time allocated for such instruction. Success in installing economic education at this level is likely to depend on school goals and their evaluation.
