Abstract
Interviews with graduating majors revealed that while conceptual teaching was largely rejected, students did express a need for more behavioral material. It is suggested that a greater emphasis be placed on practical application through simulation and other classroom devices. Social work students are pragmatic and the graduate school model may not be congruent with the capacities and desires of undergraduates Studies are cited that suggest this may be true as well on the graduate level. The study of students remains a neglected dimension of social work education.
