Operationalization of Theory in the Training of Paraprofessionals

Abstract

This paper outlines a program for training paraprofessional social workers conducted by the US Army. It describes attempts to incorporate into an ongoing training program the basic theoretical concepts described in the literature on paraprofessional training. Didactic presentation of conceptual material, experiential-based learning, and role-model learning are discussed, along with their practical implementation.
