Abstract
Videotape is a tool uniquely suited to record objectively the complexity and subtlety of human behavior, which is the core knowledge base of social work practice. This paper discusses a collaborative format between school and agency for the production of videotape records. Specific examples for involving the learner, both affectively and cognitively, through videotaped records are presented. The use of videotape playback in the treatment process is considered, with particular attention to its applicability in such areas as self-confrontation, reality testing, enhancing self-esteem, strengthening identity, and improving communication.
