Pages 44-51 | Published online: 30 Jul 2013

Abstract

This paper describes the development of master's level clinical concentration, with a particular focus on several problems of integration: theory with method skills; method learning in the modalities of individuals, families, and groups; clinical learning with other areas of social work methodology; and field experience with classroom learning. Rationale is presented that argues the need for a structured, sequential graduate clinical program which leads to the acquisition of specialized direct practice, knowledge, and skill.
