Abstract

Graduate schools of social work can provide a unified professional framework for the joint training of direct service and management specialists. Service agency output as a measure of the profession's effectiveness and general social significance is suggested as a qualitatively new focus for such programs. Curriculum development can be based upon the partly overlapping technical and systemic skill requirements of direct practice and management specialists.
