Abstract
A conceptual framework is proposed that integrates the micro and macro aspects of social work knowledge by presenting them within a human service delivery system context. Following a review of problems inherent in social work education, a definition and analysis of the human service delivery system concept is presented, and it is shown how the traditional components of social work knowledge are incorporated into such a framework in a way that integrates rather than compartmentalizes them. The paper concludes by discussing the benefits and problems in adopting an HSDS educational framework and a means for implementing it in social work education.
