Abstract
This paper examines ethnic and sex-based differentials in personal characteristics, educational background, professional experience, and current status in social work education among faculty in schools of social work. The data are presented for four subgroups: minority males, nonminority males, minority females, and nonminority females. The findings provide a basis to judge the social processes that result in status differentials between men and women social work educators. The focus on the interactional effects of ethnicity and sex makes it possible to analyze the contribution that each of these factors makes in determining bias.
