Pages 5-12 | Published online: 20 Jun 2013

Abstract

Teachers of social work must concern themselves simultaneously with the institution of higher education by which they are employed, the social work community in which students work, the growth of knowledge and understanding relevant to practice, the changing goals of the profession, the design of appropriate curricula, and most essentially, the students. This paper addresses a few aspects of each of these issues, emphasizing the teacher's basic responsibility of teaching.
