Abstract
This paper takes a systems approach to some dilemmas in developing and designing social work curricula that can relate to our diverse and complex profession. Certain systems principles are discussed in connection with both the process and the outcomes of curriculum building. Pragmatic principles that can guide and enable complex systems change also are stated. The paper concludes with an illustration of a systems-oriented curriculum building process that took place in a large school of social work.
