Faculty Publications, Tenure, and Job Satisfaction in Graduate Social Work Programs

Pages 13-19 | Published online: 20 Jun 2013

Abstract

Survey data from a random sample of graduate faculty showed that social work educators are moving toward the acceptance of traditional academic values concerning research and publication, but that most publications are produced by a small minority of the faculty. Findings revealed that tenured faculty and faculty in schools with doctoral programs published at higher rates, but that sex and job satisfaction showed little effect on publication rates.
