Abstract

There is an increasing need for social workers with technical skills in management to enter the field of aging and old age. An educational program that interfaces management skill development and applied gerontology is described and includes five components: core courses, management courses, electives, gerontology courses, and fieldwork. A survey of graduates illustrates that job opportunities exist and that training has proven to be successful.
