Abstract
The relationship of cotherapists has been shown to be the most important factor influencing the therapeutic process. The student/apprentice model for learning makes cotherapy an integral part of the educational process. In the training situation, however, an unequal status is inherent in the cotherapy dyad. In this paper, techniques to help establish an egalitarian relationship between student and field instructor are discussed.
