Baccalaureate Social Work Graduates: Reflections on Employment, Professional Identification, and Educational Preparedness

Pages 80-85 | Published online: 08 Aug 2013

Abstract

In light of a restrictive climate toward public funding and private contributions to social service programs, the present study addresses some definite concerns regarding the status of baccalaureate social workers in the work force. A survey of graduates from the baccalaureate social work program at the State University College at Buffalo, New York, resulted in findings related to graduates' employment, their continued professional education and identification, and their retrospective views of their educational experience. Earlier research findings are discussed and compared to those of the present study.
