A Research Curriculum for Future Clinicians: A Multimodel Strategy

Pages 35-41 | Published online: 19 Jun 2013

Abstract

To overcome the long-standing gap between clinical social work practice and research teaching, a multimodel research curriculum has been developed to exemplify the function of research in social work practice and to teach students to examine practice-based questions through empirical research. The authors underscore the need to include a number of research strategies to encompass complex practice concerns and issues. Data evaluating students' perceptions of the linkage of research and practice as well as examples of agency utilization of students' research are included.
