Square Peg, round Hole: The Dilemma of the Undergraduate Social Work Field Coordinator

Pages 45-50 | Published online: 19 Jun 2013

Abstract

This article outlines some of the difficulties faced by the fieldwork coordinator in professional baccalaureate social work programs. Particularly important is the lack of recognition by academic executives of the administrative-coordinative-educative performance expectations. The author suggests that the role definitions and responsibilities set out by the Council on Social Work Education be clarified and broadly disseminated to social work faculty, program directors, practitioners, and nonsocial work administrators.
