Abstract
This study was made to determine the relationship between health knowledge and professed health practice and to investigate differences between sexes in selected health practices and health knowledge. Twenty health practices were selected and corresponding health knowledge items were constructed. Seventy-five men and seventy-five women secondary students, college students, and adults (N = 150) were administered the health knowledge test and interviewed concerning their health practices. Findings indicated that there was no difference between men and women in health knowledge and health practices. A coefficient of correlation between health knowledge and health practice was found to be .27 which was significant (p > .01) even though a low relationship.
