Environment in the 1990s

Abstract

Predictions of future environmental changes are fraught with difficulties and there are great differences of view as to what is likely to happen in coming years. However, certain environmental changes of the 1980s may continue to accelerate in the 1990s: stratospheric ozone depletion, atmospheric warming, forest die–back, rainforest depletion, African drought and species loss.
