The abstraction and generalization mappings comprising Peter Abell's method for formalizing narratives are outlined. The lack of specificity of the generalization process is pointed out The degree to which the mappings are dependent on actors according to the current formulation and the degree to which actor attributes might be included in the mappings are discussed. In addition, suggestions are made for the consideration of structural information and for using the method to examine consensus.
