A Comparison of the Open and Closed Foot Stance for Reaction and Movement Times

Abstract

College males (N=150) were tested to determine the difference between the open and closed foot stance for RT and MT in various directions and under simple and choice stimulus conditions. Differences were found between the two foot stances depending upon the direction and type of stimulus employed. The results are discussed in regard to the direction and type of response S is required to utilize.
