Abstract

A new genus of Acrididae, Amplicubitoacris Zheng gen. nov. (type species Amplicubitoacris flavistriolata. Zheng sp. nov.), is described and illustrated from south-east Xizang, China. The new genus is similar to Pararcyptera Tarbinsky, Citation1930 and Xinjiangacris Zheng, Citation1993, but differs from the first by very broad cubital area of tegmina and by dark brown apical part of hind wings, and it is distinguished from the latter genus by fully developed lateral carinae of pronotum, and by inner spurs of hind tibiae being of equal length.
