ABSTRACT

The Dichotomius speciosus species group was recently revised and one species, D. malyi Maldaner, Nunes, and Vaz-de-Mello, 2015, was originally described from São Paulo state, without an exact type locality. Here, we provide the first confirmed locality data for D. malyi, which was found in one location in a complex of small mountain ranges north of Serra da Canastra in Minas Gerais state, Brazil. Also, we describe an additional species from the same group, Dichotomius (Selenocopris) geraldimi sp. nov., from higher areas in the south of Espinhaço Mountain Range, Minas Gerais state, and present a revised identification key for the speciosus species group.
