Identification of individual gravid females, belonging to diploid and triploid subspecies of Trichoniscus pusillus Brandt, was achieved by defining two separate embryo head-width regressions completely based on individuals of known chromosome count. The validity of the two regressions was confirmed by breeding several generations of animals and was also supported by similar regressions for T. pusillus produced by other authors.
