Summary

A redescription of the holotype of the Indian centipede, Cormocephalus pygmaeus Pocock 1892, is given, pointing out several deficiencies in the original description. It is also observed that the key character like the porous area on its coxopleura touching the hind margin has been erroneously attributed to this species in subsequent revisional treatment. The distribution and relationship of the species are discussed.
